What's Happening

On May 1st, 2011, Marsha, Katina, and Christine raised money and supported the March of Dimes during an annual WalkAmerica in Rockford along the Rock River bike path.  It was an opportunity to join other area organizations to raise awareness for the health and well being of babies nationally. They walked with the Winnebago Dental Hygienist's Society under the team name "TAG" (for teeth and gums!).

Introducing the PerioSciences AO Pro Family

In the 1940's, as a result of habitat destruction and over-hunting, Whooping Cranes were on the verge of extinction.  Just 15 birds remained. Protected since 1973 by the Endangered Species Act, the only naturally occuring population of migrating Whooping Cranes has now grown to over 200 birds.  Operation Migration and its members and supporters are proud to be a part of what has been called..."The greatest species re-introduction in the history of conservation."

October 2010

We asked our patients to who were willing to part with their Halloween candy to bring it to our office for a "CA$H for CANDY campaign.  Dr. Schmidt paid $2.00 per pound and then matched the amount paid in a donation to MotherHouse.  We were able to buy supplies to fill their immediate needs.  Diapers, Baby Wipes, Canned Fruit and Vegetables, Juice, and Snacks!  Thanks to all those who participated!

We have always been environmentally conscious and have been recycling for many years. We are now replacing our standard disinfectants, hard plastic disposables, and some of our cotton products with biodegradable green products.  Always keeping our patients' safety and well-being in mind, these products meet or exceed the hospital industry level of disinfection and sterilization that has always been our standard.

At the end of our last fundraising campaign for Pennies for Peace, Marsha was priviliged to present the check from the Rockford community to Mr. Greg Mortenson, author of "Three Cups of  Tea".  Mr. Mortenson left Rockford with enough money to build and sustain a school in Afghanistan for 5 years. 

In July of 2008, one of our clinical assistants, Betsy, traveled with her husband to Ireland. This is one of the Irish towns they passed through.  "It's a beautiful country, and I can't wait to go back".  It was a great way to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
